The Crypt is recognised as one of the Hastings’ leading live music venues & nightclubs.

We have played host to a continuously diverse cross-section of events for many many years.

Boasting state of the art void acoustics sound and lighting systems, the 600 (120 seated) capacity Crypt is a venue with many names previously known as Bodega bar, Rumours and Grand Elektra. Originally used as a public hall cinema in the early 1900’s before it was destroyed by bombings in the second world war. In the 1960’s it became a notorious mod bar and in the 1970’s a techno and dance venue, before it was eventually rejuvenated into all it’s current glory in 2015. We take pride in the reputation we have built as a friendly, welcoming and professional venue.
