The Norman Award Hosted by Gary Jennison

The Hastings Comedy Festival newcomer of the year award started in 2016 showcasing and supporting some of the best emerging new talent on the UK comedy scene.

 

10 comedians perform 7 minute sets in front of a large audience at the Crypt Hastings hoping to be crowned Newcomer of the Year. 

​

The votes are made up of a panel of 4 judges and audience voting including festival founders Chris and Jake, the previous year's winner and a guest judge.

​

The winner gets a custom hand made trophy, presented with the original full size Norman helmet and gets to return to the festival the following year with their own show or a slot on our pro line up bill.
